Pricing
These prices are indicative only. Each commission is unique and may end up being more expensive depending on the size and specific details - larger sizes for traditional portraits cost more in materials, and some extra details take longer to paint.
More sizes and media options are available (see further down),
for anything not listed, just send me an email.
Digital portraits are cheaper because there are no consumable art supplies.

8" x 10" portraits are usually up to 9" x 11" in size to allow for a matting board.

Impressionistic style portraits show brush strokes and textures to give the "impression" of the subject.

Two animals in one portrait will be charged per request - the cost will be anywhere from +50% to +90%, depending on the composition and references given. We will have a discussion to work out what it is you want, and the options for the costs.
Want something different?
QUIRKY PORTRAITS
Do you want your pet to be dressed as a queen, or a military general? Perhaps you want your pet to be a chef, or using a computer. Maybe you want your pet to be anthropomorphised (made into a human-like body structure). I can do all of these and more!
The price will be dependant on what it is you want, but in general these are more expensive because of the complexity and details included.
Plain backgrounds as seen here in the military pup would be included in the standard 'oils' price, but the high level of detail in the uniform would add around 100 dollars to the price.
Payment can be done through PayPal, or cash for locals to the Central Victorian region. I will send an invoice to your email, where you can pay with the methods supported by PayPal - including Mastercard and Visa. You don't need to have a PayPal account.
I require a deposit of 50% upfront. Some people prefer to pay in full upfront, which is also fine.
Postage costs will also be at the commissioner's expense.

Painting Details
FOCUS AREA
Portraits are generally from the chest or shoulder of the animal up. Closer frame paintings, such as just the face, are the same price. Painting the full body usually costs more for the extra time involved. This will depend on the pet and what the commissioner wants, and so it's something I will discuss with each person individually.

Flat Canvas: Comes in 9" x 11" sheets. Other sizes can be requested. Good for posting.

Stretched Canvas: material stretched over a wooden frame, 8" x 10" is the base price.

Art Panel: premium primed MDF board, 3mm thick, any size is possible, 8" x 10" is the base price.

Bristol Paper: smooth or rough, 270 gsm, good for ink works.

Pastel Paper: Coloured backgrounds available. Comes in size 32 x 25 cm, which can be trimmed for A4/ 8" x 10".

Watercolour Paper: Various weights and textures, for different watercolour painting styles.​

8" x 10" - a standard small photo frame size. It is A4 in width but shorter.

DIGITAL PAINTINGS
Digital Portraits will come with a PNG file and a high resolution TIFF file for printing. The PNG is a smaller file size and is good for keeping on your phone or computer without taking up lots of space, and the TIFF file is large for the best details when printed. ​
I can print them and post a physical piece of art to you. The cost will depend on the size of your portrait.
